Think you understand relaxation? Think again.

Well, guess what.

Our exams are over and instead of getting, say, a week of well-deserved, uninterrupted rest, we get piled with homework. I wouldn't mind so much if it were varied, like maybe an essay for Geography plus a math paper followed by an English Comprehension. But NO, they just have to pile loads and loads of Chinese mock papers on us till we almost die of suffocation.

Just think, you've been doing them for so long, about 2 or 3 a week for the past few months, plus all your other subjects, till you're so so so SICK of it that you can't even bring yourself to lift the pen and make stroke.

It's not that we're lazy. It's mentally frustrating because instead of "subconciously" reading the comprehension and writing like we used to because well, writing and reading comes naturally to us, right? We now have to grip our pens so hard and squeeze every ounce of force into our fingertips to make it move the pen till we go crazy, and while reading, we have to keep telling ourselves, "focus, dammit, Focus, FOCUS!!!!!" but it never works. We want to, but we just CAN'T. Our brains are bursting because we just don't have the ability to do it anymore.

And then some people just come floating by and say, "Relax man... Just a few more weeks and you can relax already. Bear with it."

I've always found this "logic' to be completely illogical. If you want to know why, the next paragraph is an accurate portrayal of what the sentence means.

Let's say I'm the boss of a busy company that deals with loads of work. One day, during the month when we're busiest, I tell my employees, "Ok fellow employees, tell you what. Since we're so freaking busy this month, why don't you all stay in the office and work for me 24/7 without sleep and I'll give you the next month off to hibernate."

It doesn't make sense right? Not only will the company go bust, but well, it can't temporarily stop its services for the next month either.

Relaxation is just the same, like sleep. You can't NOT relax for a month and save it all up for the next month. It doesn't work like this. Work and relaxation work TOGETHER. Similarly, without relaxation, we can't perform our best at school. And it's literally IMPOSSIBLE to work and work and do nothing but work for one month then save all the relaxation for the next. It doesn't work this way.

And I'm not using this as an excuse to get out of studying. It doesn't work to relax but not study at all as well. Not only will you fail miserably, you won't even appreciate the bliss of relaxation.
