Phyllis Kwek and Lee Se Eun

Ok, so this is kind of weird. I just realised that Lee Se Eun(plays Enzhu in "JiaYou JinShun!") and Phyllis Kwek(some Singaporean mediacorp actress) look really alike. I mean, how can two people from two different races, two different countries and two different cultures look so alike? But here's the evidence:

Lee Se Eun
(Ok, so the pics not very clear, but you can always google her pics and see more)

And Phyllis Kwek.

(This is the best pic of her face I could get)

Holiday reflections

Yes I know what you are thinking.

"Why do I have so much time to blog when its the VERY VERY last day of the June Hols and everyone is chiong-ing for their homework?"

Well to start things off, I have ALMOST completed all my homework. All I'm left with are:

1. EL journal (which is basically crapping, and as you all know, DARN EASY)
2. Geog 8 mark essay question
3. German book review (but since I've finished the book, it should be no prob)

If you think that's a lot, you should go ask HG, who has at least thrice as much left as me.

I'm not asking for much. I don't demand lavish holidays in exotic locations, nor do I force my friends to go out with me to watch movies all week long. All I want of my holiday is just to have the time to rest, relax, maybe some minor revision, and go back to school refreshed. Do I feel refreshed? No, I absolutely do not. On the contrary, I feel completely exhausted, like all my life has been sapped away from me bit by bit and then digested by the much-dreaded holiday homework.

Everyone thinks teenagers (or qing shao nian) are superficial, materialistic, bimbotic and goodness knows whatever sin they'll pin on us next. In fact, we aren't demanding much. Look at me for example. All I want to do is to sit on the sofa, with some really good chick lit and my milo on hand. Sure, we do go out sometimes, but wouldn't you after you've been cooped at home for days on end?

This isn't rebellious. This is stating the truth and clearing misunderstandings that grown-ups have had about us for years and years. I've remained silent long enough, and I will remain silent no longer. It's time I stood up for what I believe in.

Do you know how terrible it is when those 50-year-old aunties glare at you just because they read some exagerrated news article from ZAOBAO, when in fact, you've done nothing wrong? Do you realise how condemned we are in society? Can you understand that just because one of us does this terrible deed, it does not mean the other i-don't-know-how-many-hundred-thousands of us will do likewise?

Can you imagine having to read and read and read articles on how badly brought up and how problematic your generation is, then having to face cruel glares and criticism just because one person's sin tarnished everyone's reputation? Most of the time I just feel like ripping eveything up and dunking it in the bin because most of it isn't true. Fine, someone did this, but to say that "qing shao nian" are like this just because that person commited a wrongdoing is not correct. The problem now is that its so GENERALISED. The reporters just tack a qing shao nian onto their article and thats it, the entire population of us can just kiss our reputation goodbye.

And of course, I do not think those teenagers who did wrong were right. I never said they were. I'm just saying that you should treat everyone fairly and justly, because that is just what everyone deserves.

Braces, lunch, and photos

And after putting my top braces, my teeth are in pure agony. Just touching it starts a bout of aching. And they're even painful when I bite bread, WHITE BREAD. This is infuriating, how am I supposed to eat this way?

Just thought I'd see if I could upload some pics.
My lunch today(I made it myself:) ) -->

Consists of bread, egg, tuna, cheese(cheddar), diced tomatoes, butter, mayo and ketchup.
It has 3 slices of bread by the way. And I know the photo quality isn't that great. It was taken from my 1.3 megapix phone camera!

Oh, these 2 photos are from the CBD area near chinatown. I passed by it when I was walking to the dental clinic. I think its just beautiful, I mean it. I know you guys will just go, "It's just a road and a few trees, what's so great?" But I just relish the serenity of the area, how it can actually be so calm and quiet when there's so much going on in the office blocks nearby.

Isn't it nice? You won't understand till you're actually there.

Yes I know I am so crazy over these tests and quizzes.

WHATS YOUR INNER POWER?(GIRLS ONLY)

Uniqueness- Your inner power is Uniqueness! You are very different from everyone around you, and you like it that way. In fact, youd be furious if you were anything else. To the world outside you are a buoyant, fun loving person, and are probably pretty popular. Yet deep down you feel the urge to be accepted as who you are, and desperately want someone who is truly there for you. You are very indecisive and change your mind regularly over just about anything. Youre very opinionated, and bulldoze over anyone who doesnt share your views. At times you can be very depressed, though few people realise it with your animated personality. You are great fun to be around, and enjoy shocking people with your out there views and beliefs. At times however, your urge to be different can work against you, as people dont often enjoy their ideas of right and wrong having any shades of grey. But dont let them get to you; youre an awesome person who many love. You have no doubt heaps of friends, but dont always have that close friend/s that you want and need. You strive to be accepted for who you are, and are protective and loyal to those who earn your trust. Although at times you think there may be no one there, look around. There is someone in the shadows who desperately wants to be your friend, who maybe you just havent noticed. Dont let anyone get you down, youre the one who gives this boring world excitement and culture. Keep it up!

Boy/Girl who will sweep you off your feet: Someone different and independent. Someone who isnt your typical male/female, who can accept that not everything has to be black and white, and yes, there are many, many shades of grey.

Your stone/jewel: Amethyst

Your power: Difference/Change. This is the ability to make a difference in the world, to create new ideas and opinions, and to open up the minds of others to show that there is more than one shade of grey.

Your element: Electricity/Lightening

A quote that applies to you: "Id much rather to be hated for who I am than loved for who Im not."

MAJORLY PISSED

I am majorly pissed right now. VERY VERY PISSED. It would not be a good idea to try to calm me down because I would just scream at you and turn the whole place upside down.

I had NCO day camp today(courtesy of GG of course) and something happened that really got me pissed. It was not my fault at all, continue reading and you'll know why. I assumed that I didn't have to bring anything to NCO(aside from basic stuff like umbrellas) since there appeared to be no list given or sent to me. Then just to check, I smsed 2 friends at 5pm yesterday asking them "what do I bring tmr?".

1 gave me a list(thankfully) of items and even though it wasn't really complete, at least I was told what items were needed. 1 just said "check your email" Excuse me, WHAT EMAIL? I check my email inbox twice daily and the only e-mail I received was the Coy 1 dance skit(of which I am not involved in since I am in Coy 2). The others were not from any of my Guides friends at all. So when I went to school today, I saw everyone labelling 1.5litre ICE MOUNTAIN water bottles(for standardisation) and realised that everything we needed to bring was mentioned in an e-mail and SMS, both of which I did not receive...

What form of communication do we have in the 21st century? Let's see... we have the telephone, the handphone, fax, e-mail, VOICE mail and even 3G. Which 1 of these were you not able to gain access to to tell me that small bit of information vital to all the Sec 3s going for NCO Camp? You have sent me countless e-mails and SMSes in the past reminding me again and again of meetings and items needed to be brought for sessions. There is no reason why you do not have my number. Oh, you mean to say that all of you lost your SIM card and thus lost my number? I do not know why I did not receive a single e-mail or SMS pertaining to NCO until I sent one out to my 2 friends when the others did. For goodness sake! I'm online more often than they are. I'm the one who keeps sending you FWDs all week long, don't tell me I didn't check my inbox. I DID, and it did not contain your e-mail.

Now you jump at me and say triumphantly, "BUT YOUR FIRST FRIEND'S SMS MENTIONED 'BOTTLE' RIGHT?" Oh yes, SO stupid of me. Fine then, blame me. It is all MY FAULT for not realising that 'bottle' is referring to a labelled 1.5 litre ICE MOUNTAIN bottle with its sticker peeled off. My fault that I did not label anything I owned, my fault that I failed to foresee the meaning of 'bottle', my fault that I UNstandardised the whole unit. If you had any common sense at all, you will know that this paragraph is filled with sarcasm. Then you are at a loss for words, and finally you say, "As a Guide, it is your responsibility to find out the things needed if no one tells you." But I did, didn't I? I actually SMSed my first patient friend who was so kind to tell me everything and the list she gave, I assumed, was the full list. There, I bothered to find out. Can't blame me for trying.

However, I would like to make known my appreciation to my kind friend who was so patient as to give me the full list. At least you show that you care.

So is it my fault or is it not? You yourself can tell. You yourself can see. You don't need me to tell you.
