I'd like to quote something I saw in Victoria's blog. It's probably the most meaningful post I ever saw, and the most logical of all.
"I hate studying.
I hate the discipline, I hate the regulation, I hate the repetition, I hate the lack of freedom, I hate looking at a test paper and realising that the only thing you can fill in is your name.
I hate not being able to read what I want, learn what I want, do what I want, when I want, how I want."
by Miss Victoria Loke.
She makes a lot of sense. I mean, people say that studying is "so siannn..." but then it just gives you the impression that they're lazy, which they probably are. Then adults start lecturing us on "Don't be lazy, next time no qian tu..." yadayada. The thing that studying that makes us hate it is that we don't get to read what we like, or have an interest in. And even if we do, the book phrases it in such technical terms, it puts you off straightaway.
And in school today they said that when people are sian it means they have no passion, so everyone should should go and have some passion. I wanted to smack then hard on their heads. If passion was that easy to get, believe me, I would have gotten it long ago. And anyway, you can't GET passion, its inborn. If you managed to get it somehow(I don't know how), then it isn't passion, its fake. Unless of course you were previously living in self denial. But the thing about passion is that its natural, and now you say it like we can go out and buy it in stores or something. Honestly, you don't make sense.
