I am majorly pissed right now. VERY VERY PISSED. It would not be a good idea to try to calm me down because I would just scream at you and turn the whole place upside down. However, I would like to make known my appreciation to my kind friend who was so patient as to give me the full list. At least you show that you care.
I had NCO day camp today(courtesy of GG of course) and something happened that really got me pissed. It was not my fault at all, continue reading and you'll know why. I assumed that I didn't have to bring anything to NCO(aside from basic stuff like umbrellas) since there appeared to be no list given or sent to me. Then just to check, I smsed 2 friends at 5pm yesterday asking them "what do I bring tmr?".
1 gave me a list(thankfully) of items and even though it wasn't really complete, at least I was told what items were needed. 1 just said "check your email" Excuse me, WHAT EMAIL? I check my email inbox twice daily and the only e-mail I received was the Coy 1 dance skit(of which I am not involved in since I am in Coy 2). The others were not from any of my Guides friends at all. So when I went to school today, I saw everyone labelling 1.5litre ICE MOUNTAIN water bottles(for standardisation) and realised that everything we needed to bring was mentioned in an e-mail and SMS, both of which I did not receive...
What form of communication do we have in the 21st century? Let's see... we have the telephone, the handphone, fax, e-mail, VOICE mail and even 3G. Which 1 of these were you not able to gain access to to tell me that small bit of information vital to all the Sec 3s going for NCO Camp? You have sent me countless e-mails and SMSes in the past reminding me again and again of meetings and items needed to be brought for sessions. There is no reason why you do not have my number. Oh, you mean to say that all of you lost your SIM card and thus lost my number? I do not know why I did not receive a single e-mail or SMS pertaining to NCO until I sent one out to my 2 friends when the others did. For goodness sake! I'm online more often than they are. I'm the one who keeps sending you FWDs all week long, don't tell me I didn't check my inbox. I DID, and it did not contain your e-mail.
Now you jump at me and say triumphantly, "BUT YOUR FIRST FRIEND'S SMS MENTIONED 'BOTTLE' RIGHT?" Oh yes, SO stupid of me. Fine then, blame me. It is all MY FAULT for not realising that 'bottle' is referring to a labelled 1.5 litre ICE MOUNTAIN bottle with its sticker peeled off. My fault that I did not label anything I owned, my fault that I failed to foresee the meaning of 'bottle', my fault that I UNstandardised the whole unit. If you had any common sense at all, you will know that this paragraph is filled with sarcasm. Then you are at a loss for words, and finally you say, "As a Guide, it is your responsibility to find out the things needed if no one tells you." But I did, didn't I? I actually SMSed my first patient friend who was so kind to tell me everything and the list she gave, I assumed, was the full list. There, I bothered to find out. Can't blame me for trying.
